I LOVE YOUR QUESTIONS!

I received a great question today regarding the length of time it takes to complete a plastic canvas needle craft project, thanks for the question, it was
a great question to ask !

   The answer to your question is that a plastic canvas project can be completed in a matter of a few hours or take as long as a few days or even as long as a few weeks. Depending on what you choose as your project.
    For example: A book mark, picture frame, or Kleenex tissue cover would not be as time consuming as what making a plastic canvas doll house would be. Picture frames or Kleenex tissue covers are awesome gift ideas, and require little time, unless you choose to really embellish them, which would require a little more time :)
   Please by all means keep your questions coming , I Love the interaction. I started this this site to help others with crafting adventures, regardless if your new to crafting or have been crafting for years.
Till next time, happy crafting !
Sincerely,
Lisa Cox

Canvas Needle Crafting--Also known as Vinyl Weave

Hello & Welcome to FRIEND2FRIENDCREATIONS BLOG.

   All comments and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.

   Today we're going to talk about Canvas Needle Crafting--which is also known by many as Vinyl Weave.

   Plastic canvas is a materiel of lightweight plastic with regular spaced holes.

   There are a variety of colors and pre-cuts shapes available to do this craft. The standard or most common size of sheet is 10 1/2 X 13 1/2, however, it is also available in what they call A4 size sheets which are used for bigger projects.

   The most commonly used size is 7 mesh, ( 7 holes per inch) which is also the size most beginners start out with. However, some patterns call for a specific size, so always refer to pattern before making your purchase.

Supplies also needed to do this craft are:
* worsted yarn ( I have found 4 ply to be the best)
* small pair of scissors ( I also keep a small pair of nail clippers handy)
* #16 tapestry needle
* beads or embellishments (keep in mind that all patterns call for embellishments)
* laundry marker or dry erase marker ( I have found these to be handy to draw an outline of a pattern before cutting it out)

To familiarize you with some of the common, but, not limited to stitches used:
* Continental
* Alternating Continental
* Scotch
* Long
* Cross
* Over cast/ whip

    Plastic canvas needle crafting can be done for a variety of projects. Many utilize the craft as a hobby that can be used for gifts. It should be noted that many have used this particular craft as a means for raising money for charity, or even extra cash flow. In today's economy, the DIY and hobby market is large due to looming gas prices and the need to express oneself. Furthermore, plastic canvas is easy for our little ones to manipulate with their own creative dexterity. Any mom or grandma can tell you how rewarding that can be!

   Another great thing about working with plastic canvas is that it is only limited by your own imagination...and even if you feel your imagination is running on empty, we can make it easy for you by providing you with patterns and plans for great projects that will be loved by all. For instance, we can help you make beautiful and impressive:

* tissue box covers
* coasters w/ holders
* picture frames
* magnets
